Last Few Days in the US

We’re spending the last couple of days here in the US preparing to get
back on the plane and head back home to Phnom Penh. It’s always amazing to
realize how much there is to do at the last moment. Yikes. But Arun is
getting a little rest at least. And the heat wave that’s been ploughing
Minnesotans under, forcing them into any air-conditioned place (some are
even going to the library!), has even affected little Arun (even though
immediately after arriving here, in the middle of the heat wave, we were
all so cold that he was wearing sweaters – a heat wave in Minnesota
doesn’t quite compare to the hot season in Cambodia). So, to cool off, the
other day his cousin Paxton (8, pictured on the right) went out to the
driveway and goofed around with the hose. It should be noted that all of
my sister JoYi’s kids (they’re all moving to Hawaii in a week, which is
both sad and happy all at once – Bon Voyage folks!) are simply amazing
with Arun, but that Paxton is especially wonderful.
