Gardening together-something nice we never did at home

Here’s something nice Arun and I never got a chance to do at home – garden. My father knows that I’ve been itching to start some vegetable and herb gardening around the house, and generously offered to let me do it in one of his established flower beds.

Even better, he helped dig up the existing flowers (hastas, day-lillies, and a few other nice flowering plants) to transplant them to a new place.

And best of all, Arun helped! It was pretty late in the day, and his last nap ended at 11:00 am, but even at 8 PM he was out there, running around at the edge of the lake in nothing but a green pair of fuzzi-bunz diapers (recommended, actually), taking various tools or plastic buckets back and forth, and helping me push the wheelbarrow up the hill. It was great!

Now all we have to do is get rid of all the rock-bedding, and then I can start preparing the vegetable bed for next Spring! I’m really excited!

Now to bed – terrible allergy day, and I’ve taken a couple of benadryl. Any minute now, things are going to go pear-shaped, and I’d better be in bed before that happens.

  1. I hear your pain… It is coming into spring over here and the hay fever is playing up like a pain in the you know what… Praise the lord for Telfast once-a-day is all I can say.
